Concrete Resurfacing

When you repave concrete you are looking at the possibility of spending thousands of dollars. Another alternative to repaving is concrete resurfacing. Resurfacing concrete is a much cheaper alternative and restores an attractive look to any concrete, whether it be your patio, driveway or walkway. You can expect to pay anywhere around $300 or more depending on the size of the area that needs work. Edmonton Concrete is able to deliver concrete project in a time and cost effective manner.

You should buy a high pressure washer if you don’t have one already. Use the pressure washer to spray down the concrete and clear it of any dirt and debris. You want to work with a clean surface to avoid any problems or rough patches. Take a shop broom to the concrete to clear of what little the pressure washer may not have picked up off of the concrete.

Next you will want to mix your concrete surfacer as directed. Generally the directions are mix with water in parts being one part water to every seven parts of concrete. Once you have your concrete mixed, begin pouring on affected area that need resurfaced. Make sure you spread the mixture evenly so that you end up with a smooth surface.

Once the concrete is hardened and in place, take a broom or hose and spray down your area once again to clear off any remains of dirt left from your work. Wait until the surface is dry. Once it is, mix a bag of concrete resurfacer and water together again. Mix the mixture with a paddle stirrer until all of the lumps have been mixed out and it is thick. If you are wanting to add color to your concrete, now is the time to do so. Slowly mix in your desired color and stir until you are satisfied that the color has been distributed evenly.

Fill or repair damaged areas once again and be sure and keep the surface by using a trowel to spread the mixture evenly. Use a soft broom and gently sweep the concrete as it begins to harden to prevent any debris drying into your mixture. Once your cement has dried, which can take anywhere from six hours or more, you will have a beautifully resurfaced driveway.

This is a very easy do-it-yourself project that requires a bit of time and patience. Concrete resurfacing is not something that can be rushed through or you will end up with a rough looking area. It is easy to maintain by simply keeping it clean by either spraying it down with a hose or sweeping the area with a broom every so often. Not only is it easy but it is also a huge money saver.

Quick and effective Concrete Work

Getting concrete work done around your home can seem like quite the daunting
task. Such tasks as getting a new sidewalk put down can truly appear to be a
major task. Nevertheless, the reality of it is that most concrete work does
not actually take more than two or three days. Granted, if your job is huge,
such as, for example, you want one hundred yards of concrete walk put down;
this can take a little more time. Nevertheless, a clever homeowner can
really speed the time up if he or she goes about it in the correct fashion.
