The SUN is the biggest source of energy. As the conventional resources of energy are limited and they are also costly to use, some of the conventional resources are petroleum products, coal etc. Using these resource for energy production produces huge pollution.
To generate power nature have blessed us with lot of natural resources like Solar light, Wind power and water power. These are renewable energy resource and they also do not harm environment. Over 70 percent of earth's total area is occupied by water and it is most essential for survival of life.
When water moves it carries a huge amount of energy. This energy can be used to generate the electric power. The electricity generated by moving water is called hydraulic power or water power. Water power is used worldwide for electricity generation. The water power is generated using the power of moving water. To generate water power human have controlled rivers and their water is controlled by making tunnels and storing the water in man made storage lakes.
Once the water is stored it is poured on the giant water turbines from the dam. The fast moving water rotates the turbines , these turbines rotates the electricity generator's shaft. Once the electricity generator starts moving the electricity is generated and supplied to the users through wires.
This is the most clean form of energy. But it includes a huge investment, because the dams are required for storing and controlling the water. Generally these are huge projects and generally initiated by the Government agencies.
Some dams are natural where only turbines are required and the electricity production cost is not so high in these projects. But some of the man made. They include a huge financial investment. So the water energy is the best way of generating power.
